I-40 closed in Mocksville

MOCKSVILLE – Transportation officials urge motorists to avoid east and westbound Interstate 40 near mile marker 174 due to a downed power line on the highway.

The portion of the highway closed around 10 a.m. Friday, June 29, and is expected to reopen by 2 p.m., pending safety inspection.

Traffic is being detoured in both directions utilizing the Farmington Road exit.

The N.C. Highway Patrol, Davie County Sheriffs Department and Duke Energy crews are on scene.
