Iredell-Statesville Schools is asking County Commissioners for a 7% increase in funding next year – that amounts to roughly $2.5 million.

If approved, more than $700,000 would go to raises and benefit cost increases. According to the school district, the state is considering a 3% raise for employees. This money would do the same for locally paid staff.

Iredell-Statesville Schools is also requesting more than $200,000 to cover losses from charter school growth and $126,000 for bullying and social media monitoring software.

The total request comes to $38.6 million. You can review the proposal by clicking HERE. The district is inviting the community to provide feedback via its website.
