PRESS RELEASE

STATESVILLE, N.C. — Statesville Free News is excited to announce the publication of A Warrior’s Life: The Dalton Edwards Story, a book chronicling the Statesville teen’s nearly four-year battle with hepatocellular carcinoma.

An ebook and print edition are available through Amazon.

All proceeds from the sale of the book will go to the Edwards family. Dalton has decided to donate a total of 10 percent of all net proceeds to Rainbow Kidz, a Hospice and Palliative Care of Iredell County program that provides grief services to children and teens, and the Pinky Swear Foundation, a nonprofit that helps kids with cancer and their families by providing basic needs support.

The biography was written by veteran journalist Michael Fuhrman and published by Statesville Free News.

“Like thousands of people around the world, I have followed Dalton’s fight closely through social media since he was diagnosed in 2013,” the author explained. “From afar, I was so impressed by his determination to beat cancer. Through interviews with Dalton, his family, doctors, and his high school, club and college coaches, I have tried to capture his journey and help those who have not met Dalton understand how truly remarkable this young man is. He has faced long odds and many setbacks along the way, but Dalton’s deep faith and fighting spirit have never wavered. I hope — and Dalton hopes — that his story will inspire others who are facing trying times.”

WBTV News journalist Molly Grantham, who has reported on Dalton’s battle since his diagnosis, wrote the book’s foreword.
