Sheriff Darren Campbell stated on October 28th 2017 at approximately 9:00pm Sgt. L.J. Hayes with the Aggressive Criminal Enforcement (A.C.E) Team stopped a vehicle in the 1300 block of 5th Street in Statesville for a traffic violation. After speaking to the occupants deputies noticed that their stories were inconsistent. Sgt. Hayes walked his K9 partner Danny around the vehicle and Danny alerted to the presence of illegal narcotics in the vehicle.
While searching the vehicle deputies located a hidden compartment (Trap) which contained Methamphetamine, several prescription pills, Marijuana, drug paraphernalia commonly seen with the sale and distribution of illegal narcotics and Moonshine. The occupants of the vehicle, Mr. Jeffery Ben Pavkovich and Mrs. Emily Ann Millsaps, were arrested and transported to the Magistrates Office.
Mr. Pavkovich, of Gainesville, GA, was charged with Possession with Intent to Sale and Distribute Methamphetamine, Felony Maintain a Vehicle for the Sale and Transportation of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Schedule III (Buprenorphine), Possession of Schedule IV (Alprazolam), Possession of Less than ½ Ounce of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of Non Tax Paid Alcohol.
Mr. Pavkovich went before Magistrate Boyd where he received a $45,000 secured bond. Mr. Pavkovich was out on bond for Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia when he was arrested.
Mrs. Millsaps, of Statesville, NC, was charged with Possession with Intent to Sale and Distribute Methamphetamine, Possession of Schedule III (Buprenorphine), Possession of Schedule IV (Alprazolam), Possession of Less than ½ Ounce of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of Non Tax Paid Alcohol.
Mrs. Millsaps went before Magistrate Boyd where she received a $40,000 secured bond. Mrs. Millsaps is currently on Probation for DWI and has a lengthy criminal history including charges for Larceny of a Motor Vehicle, Possession of Stolen Property and several drug charges. Mrs. Millsaps was out on bond for Larceny of a Motor Vehicle, two counts of Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle, Identity Theft, Larceny, and Fictitious Info to an Officer when she was arrested.
