Two facing drug charges following Iredell traffic stops

PRESS RELEASE

Sheriff Darren Campbell stated: In March 2018, Deputy M. Talbert with the Community Oriented Policing (COPS) stopped a vehicle on Shearers Road in Mooresville for a traffic violation.

Deputy Talbert then made contact with the driver of the vehicle, Scott Richard Davis. During the stop it was discovered Davis’s driver’s license was suspended. During the stop and while questioning Davis, Deputy Talbert noticed Davis’s behavior to be very suspicious at which point Davis admitted to there being illegal drugs and paraphernalia inside of his vehicle.

Deputy Talbert then searched the vehicle and was able to locate and seize a quantity of Heroin as well as other related items of drug paraphernalia. After an ongoing investigation Davis was arrested and charged with Felony Possession of Heroin and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Davis was arrested and taken to the Iredell County Detention Center where he was given a $5,000.00 secured bond by Magistrate T. Thompson.

PRESS RELEASE

Sheriff Darren Campbell stated Deputy P. Dragowski with the Community Oriented Policing (COPS), observed a Toyota Tundra traveling at a high rate of speed.

Deputy Dragowski conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver Jeromy Scott Davis. While speaking with Davis, Deputy Dragowski smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle.

A search of the vehicle located a small amount of cocaine. During this investigation, it was determined Jeromy Davis had an outstanding warrant from Mecklenburg for Failure to Appear. Davis was transported to the Iredell County Detention Center where he was charged with Felony Possession of Cocaine and was given a 2500.00 dollar secured bond for this charge and was given a 500.00 dollar secured bond on the outstanding warrant by Magistrate T. Thompson.
