Two accused of mailing drugs to inmate

PRESS RELEASE

Lincolnton, NC – On Friday, June 8, 2018, three people are facing felony drug conspiracy charges after attempting to provide an inmate drugs while incarcerated at the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center. The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit charged the trio after learning two of the subjects mailed letters to the inmate with the drugs hidden inside the letter.

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office jail staff found the drugs while processing mail and alerted detectives. Detectives were able to determine the drugs were intended for a specific inmate who was awaiting sentencing. After obtaining jail records and other evidence, detectives identified two females who spoke with the inmate about the letter and conspired together to send the drugs. The drugs seized were the prescription opioid suboxone.

The inmate is currently serving a prison sentence within the North Carolina Department of Corrections and will be officially served at a later date. The other two subjects have yet to be located and have outstanding warrants.

Two subjects that are wanted:

Annette Loraine Craft, 46, of River Hill Trail, Lincolnton, NC is charged with four felony counts of felony conspiracy and one felony count of providing contraband to an inmate.

Stacey Ann Butler, 44 whose last known address of Pine Ave. Cherryville, NC is charged with two felony counts of felony conspiracy and one felony count of providing contraband to an inmate.

The inmate currently serving a prison sentence is:

Brandon Lashan Lineberger, 29, formerly of Lincolnton, NC is charged with four counts of felony conspiracy and will be served at a later date.
