STATESVILLE, NC: On June 20, 2018, Statesville Police Department received a call regarding a breaking and entering incident that had occurred at Front Street Baptist Church during the overnight hours. The suspect gained entry to the rear of the church and was captured on several security cameras throughout the building, eventually forcing open a locked office door and stealing over $800 in Offering money.
SPD Investigators obtained the video footage and developed a suspect from the surveillance images. On July 5, 2018, an officer was reviewing the surveillance images and noted a strong similarity between the suspect and a person that he had arrested earlier that morning for narcotics violations. The suspect was still in the custody of Iredell County Jail and investigators were able to definitively match the suspect in the images to Travis Robert Wade, 29 W/M of Goble Rd, Statesville, NC.
Wade was charged with felonious breaking and entering and misdemeanor larceny and taken before Magistrate Chambers who set a $15,000 secured bond.
In addition to the charges from the 6/20/18 breaking and entering incident, Wade was served an outstanding warrant for misdemeanor larceny that occurred on 6/25/18. Wade is also facing charges of Resist/Delay/Obstruct for providing a false name and date of birth during the drug violation investigation from 7/5/18 for which he was arrested and charged with PWISD Counterfeit Controlled Substance, Felony Maintaining a Vehicle and Poss. Drug Paraphernalia.
