Sheriff Darren E. Campbell stated: Tuesday February 13, 2018, deputies with the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Warrant Squad went to 174 Yellowstone Lane in eastern Iredell County in an attempt to locate and serve warrants on Randy Lee Cook.
The night before, Monday February 12, 2018 a probation officer went to check on Cook at his residence and he assaulted this officer and ran out of the residence. Warrants for assault were issued on Cook.
When deputies went to the residence, they were invited inside by one of the residents of the home. While searching the home for Cook, deputies located him hiding in a closet. Cook was taken into custody and was brought to the Iredell County Detention Center where he was served with several outstanding warrants; Felony Probation and Misdemeanor Probation Violations, Failure to Appear on a DWI, Misdemeanor Carrying a Concealed Weapon and Felony Possession of Schedule II Controlled Substance.
While being processed into the detention center a bag of marijuana was located on his body and Cook was subsequently charged with Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance in a Jail or Prison.
Randy Lee Cook was placed under a 41,600.00 dollar secured bond by Magistrate S. Nicholson.
