Sheriff’s Office: Juvenile used firearm in altercation, adult charged

Sherriff Darren Campbell stated a Domestic incident occurred at 126 Pisgah Church Road on November 14, when a brother and sister got into an altercation. During the incident one of the juveniles got an unsecured weapon and fired a shot at the other sibling. The injured sibling was taken to Iredell Memorial Hospital for treatment and was later released.

This case was assigned to Detective Nathan Rash of the Special Victim’s Unit and after investigating the case a warrant was filed for Failure to Secure a Firearm to Protect Minors.

On November 15, 2017 Elizabeth Tallant was arrested and taken before magistrate Boyd and given a $3000.00 unsecured bond. Tallant has no prior Criminal convictions.
