Lincolnton, NC – A Lincoln County man has been charged and arrested in connection with a breaking and entering at a residence on Lawndale Lane, Lincolnton, NC on September 1, 2017.
Detective Justin Link began the investigation on September 1, 2017. The victim at a home in the 500 block of Lawndale Lane reported that someone broke into his home and stole $800 in quarters, camera equipment and a JVC camcorder.
While working another case, Detective Matt Burgess was listening to jail phone calls made by Richie Scott Sanborn, 44, of Owl’s Den Road, Lincolnton, NC. In one of the calls Sanborn was trying to give someone directions into the woods off Keener Road where he had placed several bags of items. Detective Burgess located the bags and discovered the camera equipment and the JVC camcorder inside the bags along with paperwork belonging to the victim.
Sanborn was charged with one felony count each of breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering and possession of stolen property. He was taken before a Lincoln County magistrate and given a $15,000 secured bond on the charges. Sanborn was already in jail on other charges. The court date for Sanborn is set for October 10, 2017.
