Sheriff’s Office: Four facing charges after methamphetamine, marijuana, heroin located on Hartness Road

PRESS RELEASE

Sheriff Darren Campbell stated: on September 10th 2017 11:30 pm members of the Aggressive Criminal Enforcement (A.C.E) Team and Narcotics Investigators went to 404 Hartness Rd after receiving information on a Jordan Tyler Melton who was wanted out of Mecklenburg County. In addition to information about Mr. Melton, Deputies also received information that there was drug activity occurring at the residence.

When deputies arrived on the scene they encountered a male by the name of Matthew Ritchie who was walking out of a camper. When Mr. Ritchie saw deputies he tried to flee on foot but deputies were able to apprehend him and located over four grams of methamphetamine on him. Deputies searched the camper and located Mr. Jordan Melton along with Mr. Sami Price Driggers hiding inside. Deputies also located almost 10 grams of Black Tar Heroin, over 30 grams of Methamphetamine, Marijuana, Marijuana Wax or Dab, Suboxone Strips, along with numerous items of Drug Paraphernalia.

Deputies also located a pill container belonging to Nigel Terry with Black Tar Heroin but Mr. Terry had already left the residence. Deputies arrested Mr. Driggers, Mr. Melton, and Mr. Ritchie and transported them to the Magistrate Office.

Mr. Drigger’s was charged with Trafficking Heroin, Trafficking Methamphetamine, Felony Maintain a Dwell/Place/Vehicle for a Controlled Substance, Possession of Schedule III (Suboxone), Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Schedule IV (Marijuana Wax), and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Mr. Driggers was also wanted out of Cabarrus County for Failure to Appear on a DWI and was served that warrant. Mr. Driggers went before the Magistrate where he received a $198,000 secured bond. Mr. Driggers is a convicted Felon with a lengthy criminal history including several felony drug charges and breaking and entering charges. Mr. Driggers is also currently out on bond for Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.

Mr. Melton was charged with Trafficking Heroin, Trafficking Methamphetamine, Felony Maintain a Dwell/Place/Vehicle for a Controlled Substance, Possession of Schedule III (Suboxone), Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Schedule IV (Marijuana Wax), and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Mr. Melton was also served his outstanding warrant and was taken before the Magistrate where he received a $155,000 secured bond. Mr. Melton also has a lengthy criminal history and is currently out on bond for Trafficking Heroin, Possession with Intent to Sale and Deliver Methamphetamine, and Possession with Intent to Sale and deliver Schedule IV (Xanax).

Mr. Matthew Ritchie was charged with Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Resist, obstruct, and Delay a Law Enforcement Officer. Mr. Ritchie was taken before the Magistrate where he received a $10,000 secured bond. Mr. Ritchie also is a convicted Felon and has multiple drug charges on his record. Mr. Ritchie is currently on probation for Possession with Intent to Sale and Deliver Methamphetamine, Felony Flee to Elude Officers in a Motor Vehicle, and Resist, Obstruct, and Delay a Law Enforcement Officer.

Mr. Nigel Eugene Terry has outstanding warrants for his arrest for Felony Possession of Heroin and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and has yet to be located.
