Sheriff’s Office: 52 individually packed bags of cocaine found during vehicle search

PRESS RELEASE

Sheriff Darren Campbell stated on 09/24/2017, Sgt. R. Sherrill with the Iredell County Aggressive Criminal Enforcement Team (ACE) was working in the area of West Memorial Highway when he came into contact with Jorge Osmar Garcia, 24 of Monroe NC.

While speaking with Garcia, Sherrill detected the odor of marijuana coming from his vehicle. After further investigation Deputies conducted a search of the vehicle where marijuana was located as well as 52 individually packaged bags of cocaine.

Garcia was charged with Possession with Intent to Sell/Deliver Cocaine, Maintaining a Vehicle for a Controlled Substance, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Marijuana drug paraphernalia and Possession of drug paraphernalia not for Marijuana.

Garcia received a $5,000 secured bond.
