Iredell man facing charges following traffic stop

Sheriff Darren Campbell stated on September 10, 2017 Sgt. Jeremy Younts and Deputy Chase Little were patrolling the area of Williamson near Sundown Rd. Sgt. Jeremy Younts and Deputy Chase Little, observed a black passenger vehicle driving on Williamson Rd. Deputies conducted a traffic stop for a traffic violation. Deputies then made contact with the driver Marquis Stinson. Upon further investigation in was found that the driver was in possession of a Smith and Wesson Firearm, 20 grams of Marijuana, and 5 grams of Cocaine. The driver was then arrested and taken to the Iredell County Detention Center. Mr. Stinson was given an $8000.00 secured bond and will appear in Iredell County Court on 09/11/2017 for his first appearance.

Marquis has been charged with weapon, drug, alcohol, and driving offenses in the past.
