Sheriff Darren Campbell stated: On Sunday July 29, 2018 Sergeant. C. Bentley with the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Aggressive Criminal Enforcement (ACE) Team stopped a 2004 Dodge on West Memorial Highway near Harmony for a registration plate violation.
Sgt. Bentley met with and identified the driver, Garland E. Hartsoe II, of Harmony by running his name in a computer database check. Sgt. Bentley also learned Hartsoe had outstanding felony and misdemeanor warrants for his arrest.
Hartsoe was then asked to exit the vehicle and was then taken into custody. A post arrest search of Hartsoe and his vehicle located; 12 grams of powdered cocaine, individually packaged in 21 separate plastic bags, 11.4 grams of marijuana, 5 Buprenorphine Hydrochloride pills, multiple clear plastic bags, digital scales, and other paraphernalia.
Hartsoe was transported to the Iredell County Detention Center and was taken before Magistrate P. Tutterrow. Garland Edward Hartsoe II was charged with: Felony Possession with Intent to Sell or Deliver Cocaine, Felony Possession of Cocaine, Felony Maintaining a Vehicle, Dwelling for the Use or Sale of Controlled Substance, Possession of Schedule III Controlled Substance, Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana, Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana Paraphernalia, and Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was given a 10,000.00 dollars secured bond on these charges. He was also given a 10,000.00 dollars secured bond on the outstanding warrants.
