Denver man accused of inappropriately touching child facing new charge

PRESS RELEASE

Lincolnton, NC – Lincoln County Sheriff’s detectives have filed an additional charge against a Denver man.

Brandon Scott Cecil, 34, of North NC Highway 16 Business, Denver, NC was charged today (September 6, 2017) with one felony count of 2nd degree exploitation of a minor. He was arrested on August 24, 2017 on one felony count each of statutory sex offense of a child and indecent liberties with a child.

Detective Dan Renn received a report on August 4, 2017 that the suspect had been inappropriately touching a female juvenile. The incident occurred at his residence and involved a relative.

Deputies executed a search warrant at the residence on August 23, 2017 and arrested the suspect.
Cecil was taken before a Lincoln County magistrate today, September 6, 2017. His bond was raised to $130,000 secured.
