Arrest made in Statesville homicide investigation from December

PRESS RELEASE

UPDATE: On Monday afternoon, January 8, 2018, the suspect in this case, Roshedia Keisan Bruner turned herself in at the Statesville Police Department. She was taken into custody, and was served with the outstanding warrant for her arrest for Murder. Bruner was taken before a magistrate and charged with Murder. She was held under no bond, with a first appearance set for tomorrow, 1/9/2018.

Statesville NC: On Saturday night, December 9, 2017, SPD officers responded to a reported assault at a residence in the 1500 block of Wilson Lee Blvd. Upon arrival, officers discovered the victim inside the residence suffering from stab wounds to the leg.

Iredell EMS responded and transported the victim to Iredell Memorial Hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, the victim succumbed to the stab wounds he sustained as a result of the assault. The victim was identified as 44 year old Harry Max McLaughlin, Black Male, of Statesville.

SPD CID personnel responded to the scene and began an investigation. Investigators worked into the early morning hours on the crime scene and conducted interviews.

An autopsy was completed on Tuesday morning December 12, 2017. As a result of the investigation, which included extensive interviews, and evidence collected during the course of this case, SPD Investigators, Tuesday afternoon have obtained a warrant on the suspect, Roshedia Keisan Bruner, Black Female, 34, of Statesville for the charge of Murder.

McLaughlin and Bruner had been in a prior dating relationship.
