Over $110,000 of narcotics seized during I77 traffic stop

PRESS RELEASE

Sheriff Darren Campbell stated: On Monday June 4, 2018 members of the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Interstate Criminal Enforcement (ICE) Team were working Interstate 77 Northbound when they noticed a 2017 Ford passenger car with New York tags speeding.

Deputies conducted a traffic stop and spoke with the driver, Kevin James Green. They also spoke with the passenger, Nicholas Richard Rodman. While speaking with the two men, a sheriff’s office canine arrived and conducted an open air search of the car. The dog gave a positive indication for the presence of narcotics in the car.

A search of the car located 520 grams of MDMA of “Molly Rocks”, 1000 Ecstasy pills, a small amount of marijuana inside the passenger area and a .357 caliber handgun with ammunition in the trunk area of the vehicle. The estimated street value of the seized narcotics is 115,625.00 dollars.

Both Green and Rodman were taken into custody and transported to the Iredell County Detention Center where they were charged with the following crimes:

Kevin James Green; Felony Trafficking MDA/MDMA by Possession, and Felony Trafficking MDA/MDMA by Transport. Magistrate P. Tutterrow issued Green a 250,000.00 dollar secured bond.

Nicholas Richard Rodman; Felony Trafficking MDA/MDMA by Possession, Felony Trafficking MDA/MDMA by Transport, Felony Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Misdemeanor Resisting a Public Officer and Misdemeanor Possession of Schedule VI Controlled Substance. Magistrate P. Tutterrow issued Rodman a 300,000.00 dollar secured bond.
