Anti-toll group Widen I-77 held a town hall meeting in Mooresville Thursday night looking at options for the project before local leaders meet with state officials next week.
Group founder and current Cornelius Commissioner Kurt Nass addressed the group talking about possibilities for the toll contract once construction is finished later this year. Those include “complete and delete” and “complete and modify.” The second option is one where the government would run the toll lanes.
Both would come with a contract penalty cost, but Widen I-77 says that amount still equals an improved interstate.
