The man accused by the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office of beating his 79-year-old mother to death yesterday is in custody.  According to Chief Deputy Marty Byers, Michael Reid Frye was brought in early this morning and held under no bond.  Deputies responded yesterday to an Alexander Acres address finding Barbara Frye with life threatening injuries.  […]

Freightliner’s Cleveland plant closed today

Freightliner’s Cleveland plant is shut down today in honor of an employee who died after being injured on the job. According to a statement from Daimler Trucks North America, Ralph “Junior” Butler was injured just under two weeks ago while performing maintenance on a piece of equipment and has since passed away.
