Handicapped individual escapes Troutman house fire

A handicapped individual was able to escape a Winchester Drive fire before rescue crews arrived early yesterday afternoon. According to the Troutman Fire Department, the blaze was contained to the kitchen and is thought to be cooking related. The occupant got out through a bedroom window and was taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation.
